NeoNest: A Preterm Infant Warmer for Ambulances in Low- and Middle-Income Countries

which contributes to over 2.4 million neonatal deaths
annually, with 99% occurring in low- and
middle-income countries (LMICs). A staggering 1
million newborns die within the first 24 hours of life,
often due to temperature instability during transport
from rural facilities to referral centers. NeoNest, the
only transport warmer designed from locally sourced
materials, offers a sustainable, low-cost solution at just
$65. It is safe, accessible, user-centered, and
sustainable, specifically crafted for LMICs to provide
life-saving warmth to preterm infants, reducing
preventable deaths and long-term health complications.
